Collectable cards, dice and laughter fly across the room during the Strategic Gaming Club's meetings. The group of avid gamers is dedicated to mastering gaming strategy, perfecting complex tactics and, most of all, having fun.
Founded four years ago, the Strategic Gaming Club spends its time playing various strategy games . Among the club's favorites are Dungeons & Dragons, a comprehensive fantasy role-playing game where each participant controls a character through an imaginary adventure, and Magic the Gathering, a very intricate and popular collectible card game. The club also enjoys playing Risus, a variant of Dungeons & Dragons, and various board games . The club is not limited to these games, however, and is always open to new suggestions.
Although the club has only a few participants and even went through a period of inactivity three years ago, the Strategic Gaming Club is always eager to receive new members, no matter how unfamiliar they are to the genre . "We always welcome newcomers. We'll teach you the rules and get you going as long as you're willing to learn," says club member Cody Burton.
The club is also a great place to make friends and to learn gaming strategy while socializing and simply having fun with others. "We're the coolest social ditch in the school," says club member Winston Dong.
