Clubs: Pit Orchestra
Sponsor: Dustin Doyle or Michelle Roberts
Pit orchestra provides the music for the annual spring musical, teaching members how to work as a band and how to work together with the production staff of the musical. Either band teacher Dustin Doyle or marching band director Michelle Roberts will be in charge of the pit orchestra this spring, depending on each teacher's schedule.
Tryouts for pit orchestra are held each December and welcoming all students. The group meets in the auditorium two to three times a week in January and four times a week at the end of February, including a couple of Saturdays within the month. As the spring musical nears, the group meets every day after school until the March or April performances.
The pit orchestra also works towards a nomination for the CAPPIES program, a nationwide program that selects schools with outstanding performances, including nominations for each section that is part of the performance.
"The pit orchestra is fun. We try to have a good time and that's why it continues to be a success," says Doyle.
If interested in joining the pit orchestra, please contact Dustin Doyle or Michelle Roberts in room 114.
