If hired, students must first go through a free lifeguard training course that includes lessons on being a lifeguard, First Aid, CPR and AED. Lifeguards will be expected to keep an eye on the pool during their shift and provide customer service such as answering the phone or any questions customers might have. Salaries vary according to pool locations.

Hours:
Varies depending on the pool. Hours can be as early as 7 a.m. and as late as 11 p.m.; full time or part time; summer job

Qualifications:
Students should be responsible, respectable and punctual. Applicants must be at least 15 years old. To begin working, students must first pass a swimming test, which consists of being able to swim 12 laps and take a free lifeguard training course.
