The 2003-2004 school year marked the second year where Silver Chips Online (SCO) produced "online-only" content. During this time, the National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA) awarded SCO with the Pacemaker award, the highest honor bestowed upon high school journalism programs. 1The following year, 2004-2005, brought an unprecedented staff of 45 writers and editors and a new site redesign. SCO was once again awarded a Pacemaker. 2In 2006, SCO improved its food section and back page and was awarded its third Pacemaker. 3In 2007, SCO experienced another site redesign -- this time, implementing a Spanish Section and expanded Election 2008 coverage. 4During the fall of 2009, SCO launched new stylesheets and its social media campaign by getting onto Twitter to connect with its audience. 5Currently, SCO is working to improve the site's design, expand its social media presence and provide quality coverage of the 2012 elections and local events pertaining to the Blair community. 6Picture by Brittany Cheng
