Into The Woods Musical

The Montgomery Blair Players presented Stephen Sondheim's musical Into the Woods between April 25th and May 4th. Following the intertwining stories of famous Brothers Grimm fairy tales, students captured the dramatic and unique retelling of well known stories. Into the Woods featured a significantly smaller cast of principle leads than musicals in the past.
Cherry Blossoms and the Sakura Matsuri Japanese Street Festival

The Cherry Blossom Festival is a huge annual DC tourist attraction. Tourists celebrate through a variety of means, including attending parades and festivals. The Sakura Matsuri Festival is the largest Japanese street festival in the nation and features tributes to Japanese art, music and food.
Second inauguration of President Barack Obama

On Jan. 21, the nation watched as President Barack Obama was sworn into office a second time. The theme of the event was "Faith in America's Future," and nearly one million people showed up to witness the festivities in person.

The Maryland Renaissance Festival

The Maryland Renaissance Festival is probably one of the only places in the area where you can watch a jousting tournament while munching on a turkey leg and wearing a cloak and helmet. This sprawling recreation of a medieval British town is located in Crownsville, Maryland and boasts arts, crafts, theater, games, food, and all kinds of fun from the Middle Ages. The festival is one of the most highly attended Renaissance Festivals in the United States and is known for its wide array of activities.
Japanese Exchange Student Goodbye

Fall Pep Rally

This year's fall pep rally included performances from the cheer and pom teams as well as a relay race and water balloon toss. Blazers celebrated the pep rally a day early because of the day off on Friday.
