Students for Global Responsibility held a fundraising event Friday to raise money for Doctors Without Borders. The show featured singing, dancing, and poetry reading by students of all ages.
National Aquarium

The National Aquarium in D.C. offers a less expensive and closer alternative to its counterpart in Baltimore. The small but well-kept aquarium is located under the Department of Commerce, very close to the Washington Monument and just a metro ride away from Blair. It includes fish of all kinds, exotic anemones, shark feedings, snakes, amphibians, jellyfish, sea turtles, a rare albino alligator, and more.

Larriland Farm is a charming family owned pick-your-own farm in northern Maryland where city folks can go to spend a little time outdoors, act like pioneers, and bring home some tasty produce. Silver Spring Zombie Walk

Saturday marked Silver Spring's annual "Zombie Walk," an early Halloween parade of people dressed as zombies. Althrough many who happened to be in Downtown Silver Spring at the same time were bewildered by the oncoming zombie crowd, the event is now popular, with hundreds of people RSVP'd on the events Facebook page.
The Martin Luther King Memorial

The MLK Jr. memorial dedication was a celebration of his life and achievements. The main event included many speeches, including from two of King's children, Rev. Al Sharpton, and President Obama.
Homecoming Pep Rally

As part of the spirit week festivities, SGA hosted the first Pep rally of the school year. The rally gave Blazers the opportunity to show their support for the fall sports teams and get pumped for the homecoming weekend. It also included performances from the Marching Band, Cheerleaders and Poms team.
