A talented duo: rapper Lil’ Wayne and rhythm-and-blues legend Babyface collaborate to create a laidback and mellow track that will take you back awhile as comfortably as the song's title. Producer, Kanye West, blends the distinct styles of both artists into a smooth flow of vocals, generating a peaceful vibe. The beat is further amped as West successfully samples Alicia Key’s single, “You Don’t Know My Name,” into the background, which provides a nice ensemble of soft strings that enhance the mood of the song. If you're all for Wayne’s hardcore rap style, you’ll be shocked to hear him shift to a softer lyrical game, “to the left, to the left, if you wanna leave be my guest you can step,” when he half-heartedly attempts to sing on the track. Still, you won’t be surprised to hear Babyface provide the perfect hook with his usual charming harmony telling, “If you don’t love me, somebody else will, baby girl, don’t you ever get to comfortable.” The song, in response to Beyonce’s female anthem, “Irreplaceable,” provides meaningful lyrics, as Wayne and Babyface explain that ladies can’t take a man’s love for granted, because they’ll end up “leavin the best” and will “have to settle for less.” “Comfortable,” is nothing less than the best from a gifted pair who will take you back to the groove sensation of 90s classic.
