Phantom Planet's 2008 remake of "Do the Panic," a song they originally released in 2004, is much more audible than its predecessor. The new song features a mesmerizing, quirky rhythmic repetition. At times, the music flows well with the vocals of Alex Greenwald; however, the song is not nearly perfect. Greenwald does not sound nearly as pure as he did in the hit song "California" because of his drone-like sound, which combines with the bland lyrics to create an overall dull track.
