New Maryland gun law beneficial

There has been a lot of dissent towards O'Malley's new gun regulation, and this may impede his chances of becoming president. But in the end, Maryland's safety is more worthwhile than a mere four-year presidency.

Blazers place second at state-level National History Day

On April 27, seniors Elizabeth Billings, Thomas McHale and Thien Nguyendo placed second as a team at the Maryland State National History Day (NHD) competition. The team competed against over 600 other participants and will now advance to the national-level 2013 Kenneth E. Behring NHD Contest, which will be held at the University of Maryland from June 9 to June 13.

Justin Kim elected Student Member of the Board

On April 24, Montgomery County Public School students cast their votes for the 36th Student Member of the Board (SMOB), electing Justin Kim of Poolesville High School over Andrew Zhang of Richard Montgomery by a sizeable margin of 30.46 percentage points.

A Montgomery County Police Officer tased a female Blair freshman in the courtyard outside the Student Activity Center (SAC) during fifth period Thursday, after the student allegedly assaulted the officer.
