SilverStyle: Denim Takes Over
|SilverStyle is a weekly blog focusing on fashion and beauty both in and outside of Blair. Come back next Wednesday for the next edition of SilverStyle.|
As the temperature outside starts to drop, say goodbye to shorts, tank tops and flip flops. Yeah, we're pouting as well. Everyone was savoring the last few moments of summer with cute shorts and flirty sun dresses. However, the weather is ready to transition into Fall, and it's time to put your pants back on. Here are some cute denim trends SCO Fashionistas noticed while waiting for the bus in 50-degree weather.
Many girls at Blair are already "hip" to this particular trend, as it has been in style for a couple seasons. During the summer it was bright colors. This still holds true now, but the colors will get lighter as the season changes. On the boulevard, students are wearing these jeans to make their outfits pop. They're easy to spot, even in a crowded hallway. Pair them up with a patterned or light colored top and you have an eye-catching and cute, yet comfy outfit for school.
Whether they're floral, plaid or animal, printed jeans make quite a statement. It's the same basic concept as colored jeans, except the outfit mostly revolves around the pattern. Take a cute pair of floral jeans, and downplay them with an white or peach colored shirt. If you like taking risks, you can try pattern on pattern, or denim on denim, to create a contrast, which is also in this season. To make the outfit even edgier, try ankle boots with this look.
If you want to talk about edgy, this is definitely the trend for you. These jeans are perfect for day or night. With an almost glowing effect, they definitely stand out. They come in basically every color, so you have a lot of options. For a simple outfit, pair them up with a white or black top. To make the outfit a bit classier, you can add a blazer and cute boots or heels.
Looks like the 90's style of jeans are back in fashion. Fashion trends seem to cycle, don't they? Bleached jeans are a downplayed version of printed jeans, so if you're not into the printed, try this option. These faded jeans would be great for any chilly day and would look cute with a tucked in shirt with a cute belt, or oversized sweaters when it gets a bit colder. Any flats or ankle boots would complement these jeans.
Some other denim trends to take note of are denim jackets and shirts, coated denim and embellished jeans. Depending on your own style, you can customize your look accordingly. If you don't like these trends, regular jeans are always a good fallback, add a cute top and you have a chill look for school.
