Newsbrief: Teachers asked not to hold pre-holiday parties

by Branden Buehler, Page Editor
Earlier this week principal Phillip Gainous issued a statement asking teachers not to hold parties before winter break. Gainous cited food used in these parties as a major problem because of difficulties Blair is having with roaches and mice. Exterminators have been to the building several times and will be needed again. If teachers had lessons that required food usage, they were asked to make arrangements to have their classes held in the cafeteria.

A more detailed story will come after the break.

omg......he just noticed Blair had a RAT PROBLEM....I could have told him that weeks ago when there was a mouse in the SAC during my 5B lunch. OR a couple days ago when a RAT ran around the sac untill being trapped. The only mouse I wanna see is MICKEY.

Sheryl, I doubt Mr. Gainous just noticed the problem; however, food isn't usually prevalent in classrooms (in a relative sense, anyways). A larger, by which I mean schoolwide and simultaneous, problem occurs with parties such as are commonly held before break. Since there's technically a rule against food in classrooms anyways, there was no reason to say anything before.
