Blazers earn National Merit Scholarships

by KC Costanzo, Page Editor
Eleven students from Blair have received National Merit Scholarships for their performances on the PSATs.

Blazers Matthew Baron, Evan Karlik, Lisa Leung, Joshua Chang, Kevin Chang, Kristina Cammen, Anatoly Preygel, Samantha Hong, Kristin Hoven, David Madej, and Eric Schaffer are among 22 other students from Montgomery County to receive the honor.

In addition to being National Merit Semifinalists, the Scholars needed to submit an application that included recommendations, an essay, and a list of extracurricular activities.

Um. yeah, I got a scholarship from the National Merit people too. Does it not count because it was sponsored by a college (and because i couldn't take it?)

uggghhh.. I am so sick of people only being recognized based on they're so called "intelligence." That is so unfair. What about people like me, who should be recognized because we work out and go to tanning salons? I think the National Merit Scholarship biased and lacks any Merit at all. It should stop immediately. alrightbye.

Perhaps the reason youre whining that the SAT is racial is because you "would of" done better if you knew some grammar, man.
