Blair's electricity goes out again

by KC Costanzo, Page Editor
Blair’s power went out today at about 8:30 a.m. and was restored a couple hours later.

According to a PEPCO spokesperson, the power outage was a result of the strong wind that may have knocked over trees or power lines. The spokesperson said there were roughly 20,000 houses without power as of noon, though the number is “fluctuating."

The lights flickered several times before the power went out. Power was restored at about 10:45 a.m., however lights and computers blinked on and off a few times afterward.

Despite darkened rooms, classes were not interrupted.

yes they should have sent us home, but at the same time it was kind of exciting: we had a project that we did by candlelight and cell phone light, which was most interesting. but by the end of the day a lot of people had headaches from trying to look at people in the dark all day long. indeed, despite some fun, they should have given us leave to go home, it wasn't worth staying.
