Blair clubs plan Rock for Change

by Allison Elvove, Page Editor
Guest speakers as well as Blair bands and clubs have the opportunity to speak, perform and run booths at the Rock for Change event scheduled for Friday, Oct. 29 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. in the SAC.

This progressive club event is sponsored by the Students for Global Responsibility, the Young Democrats, the American Civil Liberties Union, Diversity Workshop and Amnesty International. These clubs will have booths to distribute pamphlets and to raise awareness for club activities. Performances will include the Breakdancing Club, the Step Team and InToneNation. In addition, County Councilman Ike Leggett is scheduled to speak to students and teachers at the event, and local organizations such as Bread for the City will run a booth as well.

Auditions for the Rock for Change will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 5 and Wednesday, Oct. 6 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. Bands, comedians and dance and choral groups are welcome to come try out. Sign up outside room 145; as of now, auditions will be held in rooms 162 and 164.

    lol, who cares?

lol, maybe the people who care are those who have something better to do with their lives than post stupid comments like yours.

The proceeds are going to Haitian relief, and there will be some good spekers and organizations there. It's also a great way to hear some of the music from blair students.

Maybe next time you should think about doing something good for your community and others before you go making fun of people who at least try.

As the PR manager for InToneNation, I can say that we will in fact not be performing at Rock For Change.

    I'm speaking for SGR:
We're very sorry for any confusion surrounding InToneNation's performance in Rock For Change, and want to say that they have been removed from the list of acts. Still, come out for the many other great bands and groups that will be preforming.
