Tired of wandering around the house late at night, desperately looking for some soda to drink? Well, now that search is over. Homemade ginger ale tastes as good as the store-bought variety and is easier to obtain. With a strong taste and a sugary flavor, homemade ginger ale is a surprisingly good treat for all Blazers.

This recipes makes around 4 servings, depending on the strength of the flavoring.

Kitchenware:
- Small pan for cooking
- Measuring cups

Ingredients:
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of water
1/3 cup of chopped ginger root
Seltzer water

Preparation:

1. Boil the water and add the sugar. When the sugar is dissolved, add the chopped ginger root.
2. Boil the mixture until it reaches a syrup-like consistency, or for around 10 minutes. Add more water if necessary.
3. Remove the chunks of ginger and chill the syrup in the fridge until cool.
4. To serve, add 1/4 cup of the syrup to 8 oz. of seltzer water. Stir gently, add ice and enjoy the homemade beverage.

Tasty stuff! WAAAAY better than store bought stuff and depending on the fizziness of the brand of seltzer water (I prefer perrier) you can make it to taste!
