Submissions due by Dec. 1

The PTSA is currently requesting submissions for this year's Reflections Program under the theme "My Favorite Place." The Reflections program is sponsored by the national PTA to encourage participation in the arts.

Students may submit work in the following categories: dance, film, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts. Accompanying each entry must be the official entry form, which is included with the rules and instructions in a packet available in the main office. The deadline for submission is Dec. 1.

All Blair participants may attend a celebration party to be held on Dec. 18 at Blair. Each participant will also receive a certificate of achievement. The top four Blair entries, to be announced Dec. 15, in each category will continue to the county level. The top entries at the county level will continue to the state level, where the top entries from the entire state will be selected to continue to the national level. Last year, three Blair students, Merlyn Deng and Jeffrey Tseng in the literature category and Natalie Ramirez in visual arts, advanced to the state level.

At the national level, up to five Awards of Merit and three Awards of Excellence will be awarded in the high school division this spring. Awards of Merit recipients will receive a silver-plated medallion, an Award of Excellence and $200. From the Award of Excellence winners, one from each category will be given the Outstanding Interpretation Award, which includes an all expenses-paid trip to the National PTA convention, a $750 arts education award and a gold-plated Reflections medallion.
