Local schools released early

by Nora Toiv, Page Editor
Prince George's County schools (PGCPS) and District of Columbia Public Schools were released from school two hours early on Tuesday, while Montgomery County schools stayed in session.

The PGCPS website cited "excessive heat" as the reason for releasing students. The air quality was code red, which is the worst the air quality can get, and the high temperature was around 94 degrees.

Kate Harrison, the Montgomery County assistant director of public announcements, said that she could not speak for PGCPS but that all of the schools probably do not have air conditioning. Montgomery County, on the other hand, did not need to get out early. "All of Montgomery County schools have air conditioning," she said.

Unless you've changed the story since I last read it, oops. The third paragraph is abundantly clear. What is also abundantly clear is that I goofed. Perhaps I will avoid sending you comments during AP Economics class.

In conclusion, please make fun of me in these next few days. You could make fun of my physical appearance, my demonstrable lack of reading comprehension skills, my last name ("not Worth-a-dime") or my poor speelling. Thank you.

"Prince George’s County schools (PGCPS) are getting out two hours early today, while Montgomery County schools are staying in session." - a bit editorial there; try to find a better way of saying "are getting out"

All Montgomery County schools have air conditioning systems in various levels of inadquacy. We were lucky yesterday when the power flashed that the AC didn't stay off. If it had it probally wouldn't get turned on again until July.
