Press release: KEEN program presents volunteer opportunities

The new KEEN (Kids Enjoy Exercise Now) club presents an opportunity for local teenagers to earn student service learning credits and to become a mentor athlete. The program pairs students with disabled teenagers for sports and recreational activities.

The club requires a seven-month time commitment for two Sunday sessions from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. per month. VThe new KEEN (Kids Enjoy Exercise Now) club presents an opportunity for local teenagers to earn student service learning credits and to become a mentor athlete. The program pairs students with disabled teenagers for sports and recreational activities.olunteers must provide their own transportation and be Montgomery County high school students.

KEEN Club hopes to help the disabled teenagers to learn appropriate behaviors, self-esteem, and confidence.

Applications are due by September 27th and all volunteers must attend the orientation on Sunday, October 13th from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. For more information, call 240-777-6961 or visit http://www.keenusa.org.
