Summer movies include The Fault in Our Stars, 22 Jump Street and The Giver.

The Fault in our Stars
John Green's bestselling novel is coming to the big screen. This tragic love story follows the relationship of Hazel Grace Lancaster (Shailene Woodley) and Augustus Waters (Ansel Elgort), two teenagers facing terminal cancer. This story deals with themes of death, disease, teen love and fulfilling one's last wishes. Some Blazers were pleasantly surprised with the trailer. "I was actually impressed by how much I liked the trailer, but hopefully the movie won't ruin the book," junior Brianna Kitts says. The movie will be released June 6; trailer here .

22 Jump Street
Following the success of "21 Jump Street," officers Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) return in this hilarious sequel. After impersonating high school students in the first film, the two go undercover at a local college to crack another case. However, tensions rise between the duo when Jenko befriends a member of the football team and Schmidt gets involved in the exotic culture of college art. Several Blair students are excited to see the reappearance of a fantastic cast. "Obviously I enjoy Channing Tatum's good looks, but I'm also proud to see Jonah Hill, who is hilarious, move up in the world," junior Esther Herbers explains. The movie will be released June 13; trailer here .

Begin Again
This movie portrays young singer-songwriter, Gretta (Keira Knightley), who is dumped by her longtime singer boyfriend (Adam Levine). Her life takes a turn for the better when she meets ex-music producer, Dan (Mark Ruffalo). The movie is expected to focus more on the music aspect of the film than the romantic relationship between Gretta and Dan. In addition to featuring Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine, pop singer CeeLo Green will also make an appearance. This is director John Carney's second musical romantic drama following the success of his award-winning movie "Once." The movie will be released June 27; trailer here .

The Giver
This movie is based on the beloved novel by Lois Lowry about a seemingly perfect community without the "evils" of the real world including choice, war and pain. The film follows the journey of a teenage boy named Jonas (Brenton Thwaites) who learns about these "real world" evils and their accompanying joys. Some Blazers worry that the movie will not live up to the book's unique and complex plot. "It is going to be really difficult to capture the whole book," sophomore Keegan Vernon-Clay says. The book has a strong following and some fans are skeptical to see it become a major feature film. "They're making it a huge Hollywood blockbuster which it really shouldn't be," junior Molly Beckett explains. The movie will be released August 15; trailer here .
