Blair wins 7th overall at the division I county championship

On Saturday Oct. 28, Blair placed seventh out of eight teams at the Montgomery County Division I County Championship at Montgomery Blair, and out of 18 high schools competed across all three divisions.

The Blazer Spirit

Whether as a player on the field or a spectator in the stands, being on a winning team is a fantastic feeling. The players give it their all, the spectators yell and cheer, the parents hold their breath and the clock winds down. Then it's over. The buzzer goes off and all that exciting energy is dispersed over the crowd as people cheer and hug, and players and coaches alike high five and celebrate.

Cheer to the top

The Blair varsity cheerleading team won the Montgomery County Division II County Championship and Spirit Award on Saturday, Nov. 12 for the second year in a row. After winning this year and last year, the team will move up to Division I for next year.

Sitting down for what is right

Before the 2016 National Football League (NFL) season began, standing for the national anthem was, from professional stadiums all the way down to small grass high school fields, a given. Now, by virtue of Colin Kaepernick, a quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, the national anthem has become another way for people to protest injustice.

Cheerleaders win big

The Blair cheerleaders took home the Division II title, the Spirit Award and the Division II Captain's Award at the Panther Cheer Competition at Paint Branch High School on Jan. 28.

Blair cheerleaders earn second at Counties

The Blair cheerleaders took second place out of eight squads at the Montgomery County Division II cheerleading competition on Saturday at Blair. The cheerleaders also won the spirit award for the seventh year in a row.
