The Blazer girls' varsity tennis team (5-2) defeated the Einstein Titans (0-7), a Division-IV team, in a commanding fashion, sweeping the Titans 7-0.

The Blair girls' varsity tennis team beat Poolesville in a long, hard-fought game on both sides. The Blazers (5-1) came out on top of division rival Poolesville (3-3) after battling back from losing the first three doubles matches.

Girls' tennis inches past Walter Johnson

The Blair girls' varsity tennis team just barely came out victorious over Walter Johnson in their second divisional game and fifth game overall. The Blazers (4-1) edged past the Wildcats (2-3), winning four out of the seven matches played.

The Blair girls' varsity tennis team (1-0) proved victorious in their first game of the season against the Paint Branch Panthers (0-1). The Blazers began their season on a high note, with a winning score of 6-1.

The girls’ varsity tennis team was able to shake off the rust of not playing for a week and beat the Damascus Swarmin’ Hornets, taking five of seven matches to get back over the .500 mark at 2-1.

Impact players to look out for this fall season

With the fall sports season coming into swing Blazers are looking to make this season a memorable one. Members of each team selected three athletes to look out for this season. Here is what they came up with:

Varsity girls tennis unable to keep up with B-CC

The Blair girls tennis team lost their home opener to the Bethesda Chevy Chase Barons, dropping five of the seven total matches. The loss was the Blazers’ first of the season, dropping them to 1-1, while the Barons remained undefeated and currently sit at 2-0.

Blue Devils whip Blazers on senior night

The girls’ tennis team (4-8) lost 2-5 to Springbrook on senior night on Thursday. As a result of Blair’s record this season, the team will drop to Division II for the first time in over 20 years, according to coach David Ngbea.

Patriots overpower Blazers in tennis

The girls’ tennis team lost 0-7 to the Wootton Patriots on Wednesday. Despite the defeat, the Blazers showed major improvement over previous games.
