Blair gets four new portables

For the 2017-2018 school year, Montgomery County Public School's (MCPS) Department of Facilities Management added four new portables and changed two computer labs into classrooms. The expansion occurred after school administration ran a simulation that revealed Blair had more students than space. Construction of the portables began in June 2017 and ended in July, several weeks ahead of schedule.

Class of 2016 SAT scores increase

The Montgomery Blair High School Class of 2016 raised its SAT score by five points from 2015. However, the Class of 2016's SAT participation rate dropped both in MCPS and at Blair, and the decrease was even greater among Hispanic/Latino students.

The class of 2016 voted on Thursday, Oct. 8 that they will continue to have both red and white caps and gowns at graduation. Principal Renay Johnson announced the outcome of the vote later that day, but decided students will be able to choose whether they want to wear red or white.
