Talented Blazers take on award season in early 2017

Throughout the beginning of 2017, many Blazers entered competitions and fairs to showcase their skills in a variety of subjects. A number of them were recognized for their achievements.

The mystery of Blair's dead pig

During the spring, the distinctive smell of a decomposing pig is certainly hard to miss in the area around Blair's wetlands. Most Blazers have no idea the pig exists, but for the past nine years, it has played a major role in Blairís Forensics classes.

Blair holds second annual Crime and Punishment day

On Nov. 20, Blair held their second annual Crime and Punishment day in order to give students the opportunity to explore different areas of forensic science. The day consisted of a variety of professionals from different fields coming in to speak to students.

From handcuffs to hallways

Conducting blood pattern analyses, chasing suspects on motorbike, and finding bullet trajectories seems more like a day in the life of an actor on CSI, not of the security guard who patrols Blairís back halls. But just a few years ago Maureen Walsh was documenting homicides and dodging bullets for the Washington, D.C., Police Department.
