Girls' Volleyball suffers a close defeat to Sherwood

The Blair girls' varsity volleyball team (5-2) played a long and intense match against the Sherwood Warriors (11-0), but was ultimately defeated. The match was tough from the get-go as both teams played their all; the scores for the three sets were 18-25, 19-25, and 19-25.

Girls' volleyball edges past Walter Johnson

The Blair Blazers (2 – 0) secured their second victory of the season against the Walter Johnson Wild Cats (0 – 1). The game extended into five sets as the two teams fought aggressively to hold their own; the scores for the sets were 25-14, 22-25, 25-22, 22-25, and 18-16.

Girls' volleyball suffers tough loss to Whitman

The Whitman Vikings (7-4-1) narrowly beat the Blair Blazers (6-6), 17-25, 21-25 and 17-25. For Blair, this was senior night, the last home game of the season, making the game more animated and exciting. Although Blazers lost, their amplified spirit and excellent teamwork helped them to play an excellent game.

Cougars secure close victory over girls' volleyball

The girls' varsity volleyball team fell to the Quince Orchard Cougars in a close game on Thursday, ending their run in the playoffs this year. The game extended into five sets, with scores of 21-25, 25-23, 25-17, 23-25 and 13-15.

Girls' volleyball falls to Paint Branch

The girls' varsity volleyball team (3-6) lost to Paint Branch (6-5) in three sets on Thursday, with final scores of 13-25, 21-25 and 19-25. Though the Blazers more than matched Paint Branch for much of the game, the final scores reflected isolated periods of poor serve reception that cost Blair the win.

Whitman wears out girls' varsity volleyball

The girls’ varsity volleyball team (3-5) lost to the Walt Whitman Vikings (2-5) in straight sets on Friday. The Blazers were competitive in the first two sets but slowed down in the third, ending the game with final scores of 14-25, 20-25 and 11-25.

Girls' varsity volleyball subdues Springbrook

The girls' varsity volleyball team (3-4) played a hard fought game against the Springbrook Blue Devils (1-7) on Monday, winning the game in four sets with scores of 25-15, 25-17, 20-25 and 25-23. The Blazers started off strong in the first two sets, but had more difficulty holding Springbrook back in the final two.

Girls' varsity volleyball crushes Wheaton

The girls' varsity volleyball team (1-2) defeated the Wheaton Knights (1-2). Despite dropping the first set, the Blazers managed to turn it around and beat the Knights in four sets.

Barons volleyball bring down Blazers

The girls' varsity volleyball team (0-1) was overwhelmed in a difficult match against the B-CC Barons (1-0), whose powerful offense seemed unstoppable for the Blazers. Though Blair showed improvement as the game progressed, they dropped all three of the game's sets with scores of 12-25, 16-25 and 14-25.

Volleyball falls to B-CC

The Bethesda-Chevy Chase Barons (B-CC) (11-8) defeated the girls’ volleyball team (5-12) in the first round of the playoffs. Although the Lady Blazers played well against a high caliber Baron squad, they fell in the end by final scores of 14-25, 15-25 and 17-25. Senior outside hitter Nika Lilley led the team with nine kills.
