Varsity softball annihilates Blake

By the top of the seventh inning, Blairís determined offense and solid defense managed to maintain their perfect record with a final score of 11-2. While Blake managed to keep the ball in play and proved to be Blairís most challenging opponent of the season, the Bengals would eventually fall to the Lady Blazers.

Girls' varsity softball destroys in spring break double-header

Undefeated girls' varsity softball (6-0) beat both Quince Orchard (5-1) and Walter Johnson (0-6) in a thrilling double-header Monday. The team dominated the scoreboard through both games, just two hours apart, with an aggressive offense and solid infield playing.

The Blazers scored twice in the first inning and maintained their lead for a decisive 5-2 victory thanks in large part to the home team's tight defense.

Blair softball knocked out of States in semi-final round

Blair softball made history this year with its first ever appearance in the State Championships, where the team remained positive despite an 8-0 loss. The Blazers (17-4) held their own defensively against Chesapeake (23-0) for the first half of the game before being overwhelmed by the Cougars. Chesapeake senior pitcher Megan Hyson shut down the Blazer offense from start to finish, coming close to a no-hitter.

Varsity softball wins regional championship

The varsity softball team (18-3) defeated the Sherwood Warriors (17-2) in a back-and-forth 8-6 game. The Blazers are the 4A West regional champions, and will compete in the Maryland State Softball Championship semifinals at Bachman Softball Complex on Tuesday, May 24.

Varsity softball downs Gaithersburg

Blair softball (17-3) defeated the Gaithersburg Trojans (13-5) in a nail-biter of a regional semi-final game. The Blazers will move on to compete in the 4A West Regional Championship against Sherwood on May 20.

Varsity softball dominates Magruder

The varsity softball team (16-3) will go on to the next round of the playoffs following a 5-0 victory against Magruder (2-1-14). Blair played a sound game with very few mistakes, dominating both offensively and defensively.

Damascus edges varsity softball

Blair softball (15-3) played an intense and highly competitive game against the Damascus Hornets (15-1) to close off the regular season. The Blazers stayed even with Damascus for much of the game, but the Hornets eventually pulled ahead to win 3-1.

Softball blasts through competition on senior night

The Blair softball team (15-2) defeated the Richard Montgomery Rockets (4-10) by a score of 9-3 in a game filled with several runs and defensive stops.
