On Sept. 7, Blair hosted its annual Back to School Night. The program began at 7 p.m. and lasted for about two hours. Parents were able to come and meet their children's teachers and get a general overview of the classes. Before the event began there were several parent meetings, performances from the Jazz Band and Choral groups, a MyMCPS info session for parents and various snacks being sold at the Blair Concession Stand. Throughout the night, the Parent Student Teacher Association was selling Blair Wear to parents and students. Between the staff and parents, the parking lot around Blair filled up quickly and caused a minor traffic jam in the area.

Parent Gezahegn Tolla found Back to School Night beneficial, because it helped him connect to his daughter's school life. "I get to have time with each teacher and know more about what, exactly, is involved in their teaching," Tolla said.
