Happy New Year, Blazers. The theme for this month's Hot Sheet is New Year's Resolutions. I mean, who doesn't make New Year's Resolutions? Well, Blazers, I say we start this new year off with a bang. So, for the Blazers out there who are just starting to read The Hot Sheet this year, I hope you enjoy. A little background info on The Hot Sheet: well, it's all the HOT information on all the HOT things of today, like movies, fashion, advice, celebrity hook-ups and break-ups, T.V., what's in and what's out and a student fashion panel to give its opinion on today's fashion. Also, Blazers, since this is a New Year, I thought, how about change? Change is good, so I decided to bring in a friend of mine to help out on the article: sophomore Dilsia Menjivar. So, my fellow Blazers, it's time to pop open a bottle of Apple Cider because it's almost time. 5,4,3,2,1...Happy New Hot Sheet!
Blazers, the new year has arrived, as well as hundreds of new fashion ideas. The month of January always goes by so quick, meaning so will a lot of trends. So, basically, you have to stick with the one that will last, yours. Trends get started by one person, and if they're lucky, they sweep the nation, but probably have the life span of Spring Break, about 10 days. The key to all of this is to be yourself this year, and that doesn't mean you have to wear the same style of clothes everyday. Because this is a New Year, you can start fresh and try something different, but that doesn't mean you aren't yourself; you're you from within.
Boys: Because this is a new year, and you wanna switch things up, I say, if you're a preppy guy, try modern comfort, which means take off the long-sleeved polo top and exchange for a hoodie. Another example would be, if you're a sports-wear guy, try to switch it up with a nice button-down shirt. But guys, just remember, just because you're wearing a new style absolutely doesn't mean you have to wear a new personality.
Girls: Last year, you took my advice and tried new ideas in fashion. But what you don't know is that there are so many interchangeable clothes styles. I say, take a pair of your most deconstructed jeans (a faded pair of jeans with a few rips) and match it with one of your nice silk, long camisole tops. Or take a pair of camo flairs and match it with a winter floral button down top and a pair of VANS. The whole idea is to be a risk taker. The clothes items that you never thought would match do.
Blazers, the Committee is here. The Committee consists of a few fashionable students who tell us what clothes they like this season. So let's hear what they have to say.
