Progressive event scheduled for October

Guest speakers as well as Blair bands and clubs have the opportunity to speak, perform and run booths at the Rock for Change event scheduled for Friday, Oct. 29 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. in the SAC.

This progressive club event is sponsored by the Students for Global Responsibility, the Young Democrats, the American Civil Liberties Union, Diversity Workshop and Amnesty International. In addition, County Councilman Ike Leggett is scheduled to speak to students and teachers at the event, and local organizations such as Bread for the City will run a booth as well.

Auditions for the Rock for Change will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 5 and Wednesday, Oct. 6 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. Bands, comedians and dance and choral groups are welcome to come try out. Sign up outside room 145; as of now, auditions will be held in rooms 162 and 164.
