Will SCO pull a double-fault?

Quirky Tiddlywink-er seeks a girl who understands him. Will these two Blazers play by the same rules?

Summer plans:
Him: "Work in Arizona doing construction for my uncle's construction company. Make some money for college and all that jazz."
Her: "Working at Dansez Dansez and chilling with friends."

Celebrity you most identify with (and why!):
Him: "Robin Williams because he is a crazy guy that can do many different voices without even trying. And he's hairy."
Her: "Jessica Alba cause she's hott like me."

My ideal guy/girl will:
Him: "completely get me and my quirks and find them amusing and manageable. And be attractive, smart, fun, worldly, love a good laugh…that sort of thing."
Her: "super sweet and fun and outgoing."

Your romantic history in three words:
Him: "Ends too soon."
Her: "Complicated, brief, awkward."

Friday, May 4

While the pep rally last Friday left the whole school abuzz, senior Max Lockwood and sophomore Lily Ross, Blair Pair's second couple, had other things on their minds: their blind date.

The two met after eighth period at the trophy case, the official Blair Pair launch site. After being introduced by a Blair Pair member, they were then led to Fajita Coast.

Max: "I didn't really know the person at all…[so] walking to the restaurant was kind of awkward. It was kind of weird because she was a sophomore and that's normally younger than what I go for, but she was perfectly cool. She was nice and she was pretty."
Lily: "I had seen him around but I didn't really know him."
Max: "After the beginning…we loosened up."

At Fajita Coast, the two ordered chicken fajitas with salsa and guacamole. Over the complimentary chips, Max and Lily tried to get to know each other.

Max: "We started asking each other questions like 'top three favorite bands' and 'favorite movies.' Basically we were finding out about each other."
Lily: "We basically just asked each other random questions to get to know each other. He talked a lot about Tiddlywinks and what his plans are for next year."

Lily confessed that after the date she still had "no idea what Tiddlywinks was."

After finishing their food, the duo headed back to Blair, where Lily had gymnastics practice at 4:30.

Max: "After we finished our meal, I walked her back to Blair so she could go to gymnastics practice."
Lily: "I felt kind of bad about [having to go to practice]."
Max: "We hugged and said goodbye."

While both agreed that the date was "definitely fun," both Max and Lily say the short outing and lack of common interests kept the sparks from flying.

Max: "She's really nice and she's really outgoing and we had the same interests in terms of films and TV shows. But I mean she told me that she idolizes Britney Spears, and Britney Spears was never a big favorite of mine."
Lily: "We're really different…so I don't think [we're compatible]. He likes a lot of science and that's my least favorite thing in the world."
Max: "I'd give [the date] a 4 out of 5 because she was cool and we did get along."
Lily: "I'd say about a 3 [out of 5]. We're really different and also [because of] the circumstances, since we didn't spend much time together."

Even without an immediate romantic connection, the couple agreed that they wouldn't mind hanging out again.
Max: "I wouldn't mind [going on another date]. Frankly I figure that anyone who can put up with tiddlywinks is good enough for me."
Lily: "[Another date?] Probably not. I'd probably still want to stay friends with him because he's a really interesting person."

Blazers, Blair Pair is still looking for singles wishing to be set up. For a chance to meet "the one," check out the application here
