Students left in the dark for morning classes

Blair's power went out today at about 8:30 a.m. and was restored a couple hours later.

According to a PEPCO spokesperson, the power outage was a result of the strong wind that may have knocked over trees or power lines. The spokesperson said there were roughly 20,000 houses without power as of noon, though the number is "fluctuating."

The lights flickered several times before the power went out. Power was restored at about 10:45 a.m., however lights and computers blinked on and off a few times afterward.

Despite darkened rooms, classes were not interrupted.
