Football team comes alive in the fourth quarter

The Blazers have done everything necessary to become a playoff caliber team. Two weeks ago against the BCC Barons they showed the ability to score points. On Friday, September 21 at Titan Field they showed the ability to come back in the closing minutes of a game.

Led by senior Quarterback James Mccrae, this Blazer team has showed the county that Blair is back. Down 7-0 throughout most the game, the Blazers never lost focus or desire. The Titans scored on their opening drive marching the length of the field and wearing the Blazers down.

After the first drive neither team prevailed until the final minutes of the game. Two key drives in the fourth quarter were cut short due to fumbles by junior running back Felix Ruiz. Mccrae scored with 4: 43 left in the game. With 2: 37 left to go before overtime, Nino Tran and Damion Blank sacked the Titans Quarterback in the endzone for a safety.

A ferocious special teams tackle by Jermaine Jack started the Titans from their own ten. This field position set up the safety by Tran and Blank. Jack contributed 9 tackles in the game.

Next week the Blazers face historically tough Seneca Valley, who are coming off a big win against Wheaton. The Blazers will have to use both their ability to score and stay in a game mentally and physically in order to compete with the Screaming Eagles.
