JV volleyball defeats B-CC in straight games

OCT 22, NELSON H. KOBREN MEMORIAL GYMNASIUM-

Blair's JV girls' volleyball team raised its season record to 7-5 after today's 25-14, 25-12 trouncing of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Barons.

The Blazers jumped out in front, racing the scoreboard to 15-5 in the first game and taking the first game in short order. The second game was even more impressive: Blair took a 21-5 lead in just minutes. Blair's control of the game was evident after keeping the serve for at least 6 straight points in the second game.

Although they missed their very first serve, surrendering the first point of the match to B-CC, Blair's serves won them the match. Most of the Blazers' serves were unreturned by the Barons and some even went untouched for aces.

Despite the dominating victory, Blair maintained its problem with communication. "We still need to improve on calling the ball so it doesn't just fall" junior Phung Le explained.

Blair's next game is Oct 23 at home against Kennedy.
