Volleyball conquers Blake in two games

Blair JV Volleyball beat the Blake Bengals with scores of 25-13 and 25-17, making Blair's season record 3-2. With many fast, accurate serves and difficult saves the Bengals were quickly overcome.

Blair gained control of the game from the start, leading with 10-1 in only minutes, and kept it throughout the match. Junior Phung Le led the offensive attack with many unreturnable serves. "They just couldn't stop our serves and offence," Coach Jason Lee explained.

The main downfall for Blair was the lack of communication during plays. There was sometimes confusion as to who was going for the ball, leading to some balls flying by and one collision.

Captain Katarina Farah believes they still need to improve on their teamwork. "We're improving as time goes by. Although our serves are better we still need to learn consistent serving, passing and setting," said Katarina.

The team is looking optimistic for upcoming games. "I am confidant that we will have many more victories," said Lee. "Our upcoming opponents from Walt Whitman look like a good team, but looks can be deceiving," explained Katarina.
