Maggiano's provides a little taste of Italy here at home

For a taste of Italy right here in our hometown, go to Maggiano's Italian restaurant, which is located on Wisconsin Avenue in Chevy Chase right next to the Chevy Chase Pavilion. Valet parking is provided, and there is also a parking garage nearby, so parking is not an issue.

As a host leads you to a table, you enter a large dining hall with dim lights and soft music playing. Because Maggiano's is so well known around the town, it tends to be crowded at times. After you are seated, a waiter or waitress will provide bread and olive oil for the table.

Maggiano's specializes in family dining. This style works especially well for large groups. In family dining, guests can choose two appetizers, two salads, two pastas, two main courses and two desserts from a special menu. These items are brought to the table in large portions so that everyone can share just as if you were eating at your own family dinner table. All parties pay the same price for their meal with the exception of drinks. Family dining is similar to an upscale buffet in that you get as much food as you want for a single price.

If you are not interested in family dining, Maggiano's also provides regular dinner menus. Guests are more than welcome to choose a dish that they would like to have just for themselves. Maggiano's also provides fine wines that are available with all meals.

The customer service at Maggiano's is superb. The waiter or waitress comes quickly to your table after you are seated. If you are having trouble deciding what to order or have questions about an item, the waiter or waitress provides extra help. There is never a long wait for your food because different items are always coming and going. If you are not satisfied with a dish, the waiters will gladly take it back and bring you something else. For a special birthday, the waiter or waitress will bring a special dessert and sing "Happy Birthday." Maggiano's even provides a carry out service to all of their loyal customers.

Overall, Maggiano's has got to be one of the best restaurants in town. They provide good customer service, a clean atmosphere and tasty food. They specialize in dishes such as lasagna, fettuccini alfredo and manicotti. All of their entrees include a perfect blend of herbs and spices that will have you begging for more. If I had to select one dish, I would choose the chicken manicotti. The tender chicken is stuffed inside thin pasta and served with a cheesy cream sauce. After just one bite, the succulent flavors will awaken your taste buds.

Maggiano's is located at 5333 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington, DC 20015. They are open Monday thru Saturday 11:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. and Sundays 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. for lunch and Monday thru Thursday 3:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. and Sunday 3:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. for dinner. Lunch is $16.95 per person (excluding tax and drink) and dinner is $23.95 per person (exluding tax and drink). In order to make reservations, contact them at 202-966-5500.
