The annual Montgomery County Thanksgiving Parade is planned for Saturday, November 22 at 10:00 a.m. in downtown Silver Spring.

The one-mile parade will begin at Georgia Avenue and Sligo Avenue and continue north to Wayne Avenue and east to Ellsworth Drive. The Redskins Marching Band, Irish American String Band, Caporales "San Simcon" Bolivian group, and local high school, military and bagpipe bands will participate in the parade. The theme for this year is "A Salute to the Military" and will be led by Montgomery County Executive Doug Duncan as the Grand Marshal and ABC 7 Chief Meteorologist Doug Hill as Master of Ceremonies.

High school students can receive Student Service Learning hours if they volunteer at the event. For more information, call the Silver Spring Regional Services Center at 301-565-7300.
