Nader to make local appearance

Sept. 6, 2004, midnight | By Jeremy Goodman | 20 years, 3 months ago

Ralph Nader, a presidential candidate for the 2004 election, is scheduled to speak and conduct a book signing at Barnes & Noble-Bethesda on Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 7:00 p.m.

His new book, The Good Fight: Declare Your Independence and Close the Democracy Gap, is critical of both major political parties, the Democrats and the Republicans. It discusses corporate politics and denounces what Nader considers the unprincipled status quo.

In the 2000 election, Nader ran for President with the endorsement of the Green and Reform Parties. Although he won no electoral votes, many believe that he determined the outcome of the election. He has not been endorsed by the Green Party in the upcoming 2004 election.

Barnes & Noble is located at 4801 Bethesda Avenue. Call (301) 986-1761 for more information.
