NFL - Week 11 Predictions

Nov. 14, 2008, midnight | By Sean Howard, Anshul Sood, Kevin Teng | 16 years ago

Redskins return to action

The Skins are back after their bye week and welcome with them ex-Raider cornerback DeAngelo Hall. However, concerns over an injury to Clinton Portis could spoil his welcoming and make a victory for Washington harder as they take on Dallas at FedEx Field.

Meanwhile, the Titans remain perfect, the Colts beat Pittsburgh, a missed kick pushed the Vikings past the Packers and the Jets put a beating on the Rams. The Cowboys welcome back quarterback Tony Romo this week from a finger injury.

On the pick front, Kevin's lead is dropping like gas prices have been recently. He now finds himself only five picks up after being 10 up only two weeks ago. Can Anshul cut into his lead even more this week as he fights to show experience matters? Or will Kevin maintain? Can Sean catch up or will his blind faith in Dallas be his undoing? It all starts Thursday!

New York Jets (6-3) at New England Patriots (6-3)

Anshul Kevin Sean
New York New England New England

Anshul says:
A battle for first place in the AFC East could leave the Patriots gasping for air. The loss of linebacker Adalius Thomas on top of other injuries leaves the Patriots depleted while the Jets are still flying high (no lie.)

Kevin says:
The Patriots are getting in the swing of things now. The Jets just destroyed the back-to-normal Rams. I'd put my money on the better team.

Sean says:
I wish the Patriots just stayed down the entire season, but I guess it can't be helped. The Jets have shown no signs of greatness but several signs of mediocrity.

Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008

Denver Broncos (5-4) at Atlanta Falcons (6-3)

Anshul Kevin Sean
Atlanta Denver Atlanta

Anshul says:
The Falcons just keep soaring. Rookie quarterback Matt Ryan is playing amazingly and Michael Turner is a beast on the ground. Let's go Falcons!

Kevin says:
Jay Cutler is very good, despite the misleading record. Kudos to the Falcons for their win over the Saints, but they're going to need a bit more luck against the Broncos.

Sean says:
I was extremely surprised that the Saints lost. On that note, I'm thinking the Falcons can pull out a win in the Georgia Dome.

Detroit Lions (0-9) at Carolina Panthers (7-2)

Anshul Kevin Sean
Carolina Carolina Carolina

Anshul says:
Just keep waiting, Detroit - it's not your time yet.

Kevin says:
There's a wonderful disparity between these two teams. BLOWOUT OF THE WEEK.

Sean says:
If Anshul only had a brain, if only Kevin had a heart, if only the Detroit Lions had a win. We're off to see the WIZARD!!!

Philadelphia Eagles (5-4) at Cincinnati Bengals (1-8)

Anshul Kevin Sean
Philadelphia Philadelphia Philadelphia

Anshul says:
The Bengals should be happy; at least they got a win this season. The pressure is off.

Kevin says:
There's another wonderful disparity between a different pair of teams. Second BLOWOUT OF THE WEEK.

Sean says:
Wow, this is almost as bad as Detroit. Sorry, Bengals, not this time.

Chicago Bears (5-4) at Green Bay Packers (4-5)

Anshul Kevin Sean
Green Bay Green Bay Chicago

Anshul says:
Chicago may have the better record, but Green Bay is dangerous. A-Rodg is still playing well and Ryan Grant is starting to turn it on. Look out, Bears, here comes the Pack.

Kevin says:
Interesting game. I don't think either of these teams will make the playoffs because the NFC North will be won by the Vikings and both of the wild cards will be NFC East teams. I have a feeling that the Packers will win, as they have better starters.

Sean says:
As the obese men say on "SNL": THE BEARS, THE BEARS, THE BEARS!

Houston Texans (3-6) at Indianapolis Colts (5-4)

AnshulKevin Sean
Indianapolis Indianapolis Indianapolis

Anshul says:
Andre Johnson should take a page out of Roy Williams' book and get traded.

Kevin says:
I have to say I've been putting too much faith in the Texans. For that, I'm sorry. But I'm not sorry for thinking that the Colts are not as good as they were last year. They really aren't, but they probably will take this game.

Sean says:
Hmm. I have no pithy, sarcastic or irreverent statement for this game. Actual analysis is clearly out of the question, so I'll just say that the Colts will win.

New Orleans Saints (4-5) at Kansas City Chiefs (1-8)

AnshulKevin Sean
New OrleansNew Orleans New Orleans

Anshul says:
An easy win is what the Saints need to get back on track after a loss to the Falcons last week.

Kevin says:
The Saints need to step it up, so they will. They're 4-1 at home but 0-4 on the road. The Saints need to secure a road win to stay in contention for the postseason; because the Chiefs are terrible, the Saints will take it.

Sean says:
We at SCO can only hail to one Chief at a time (Go Obama).

Oakland Raiders (2-7) at Miami Dolphins (5-4)

AnshulKevin Sean
Miami Miami Miami

Anshul says:
What will Ronnie Brown do in this game? Pass? Run? Catch? KICK? In the words of KG, anything is possible!

Kevin says:
You don't need a good team to beat the Raiders.

Sean says:
Oh, Raiders. Take solace that San Francisco would be nothing without you, but don't take hope that you'll win this game.

Baltimore Ravens (6-3) at New York Giants (8-1)

AnshulKevin Sean
New York Baltimore Baltimore

Anshul says:
I want the Ravens to win this one, and they certainly are capable of doing so. But I need to make up some ground on Kevin, so I'm going with the Giants.

Kevin says:
I forsee a gigantic upset here as the Ravens with a solid defense take on the Giants with a solid everything. The Giants need to start losing soon.

Sean says:
I'm so tired of the Giants winning. Let's go Ravens!

Minnesota Vikings (5-4) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-3)

AnshulKevin Sean
Tampa Bay Tampa Bay Minnesota

Anshul says:
The Cashier, Adrian Peterson, came alive last week, but the Bucs are dangerous. They've got an explosive offense and a beastly secondary that can make Gus Frerotte consider retirement.

Kevin says:
The Buccaneers will be vying with the Cowboys for one of the NFC wild card slots. They both have solid teams. The Vikings may not do well against such an established offense.

Sean says:
The battle of the Sea will be decided by Poseidon. In the mean time we should ask ourselves, which are more beast? Vikings or Pirates? I say Vikings.

St. Louis Rams (2-7) at San Francisco 49ers (2-7)

AnshulKevin Sean
San Francisco San Francisco St. Louis

Anshul says:
Based upon their Monday night performance, I'm going to believe in Mike Singletary and the Niners.

Kevin says:
The Niners had a good game last week and almost beat the Cardinals. So I'm going with them; plus, the Rams were blown out once again.

Sean says:
The Rams took down Dallas and Washington. As I wonder how this happened, I'll say they can bring down the 49ers.

Arizona Cardinals (6-3) at Seattle Seahawks (2-7)

AnshulKevin Sean
Arizona Arizona Arizona

Anshul says:
Arizona is 6-3 and everyone else in their division is 2-7. How sad.

Kevin says:
The Seahawks are terrible and their record shows it. Old man Kurt Warner can get the ball to his receivers. There's no doubt about this game.

Sean says:
The Seahawks should nest for the evening. On a completely unrelated note, did you know that male cardinals can and do spend several hours fighting their reflection in glassy surfaces?

Tennessee Titans (9-0) at Jacksonville Jaguars (4-5)

AnshulKevin Sean
TennesseeTennessee Tennessee

Anshul says:
Last year, this was a great match-up. This year, the Jags aren't nearly as good.

Kevin says:
Nothing.

Sean says:
When will the Titans and Giants play?

San Diego Chargers (4-5) at Pittsburgh Steelers (6-3)

AnshulKevin Sean
PittsburghPittsburgh Pittsburgh

Anshul says:
The Steelers' defense will stop the Chargers cold. On top of that, their offense will destroy. If only San Diego had some clones of Antonio Cromartie.

Kevin says:
I'd choose the Steelers over the Chargers without a shadow of a doubt.

Sean says:
Roses are red. Violets are blue. The Saints stopped LT and the Steelers will too.

Dallas Cowboys (5-4) at Washington Redskins (6-3)

AnshulKevin Sean
WashingtonWashington Dallas

Anshul says:
We got a week to rest up and now we get back to dominating. Big D is going down at the hands of the Skins. HAIL TO THE REDSKINS, HAIL VICTORY! BRAVES ON THE WARPATH, FIGHT FOR OLD D.C.!

Kevin says:
I'm kind of sad that both of these teams lost to the Rams. But the Redskins will, obviously, prevail at home against the Cowboys. It's fine that the Cowboys roster is almost completely healed and several of the Redskins stars may not be top notch. We'll always have Chris Horton.

Sean says:
Do I even need to say it? DALLAS. ALL DAY, EVERYDAY.

Monday November 17, 2008

Cleveland Browns (3-6) at Buffalo Bills (5-4)

AnshulKevin Sean
ClevelandBuffalo Buffalo

Anshul says:
Upset time. The Bills aren't as good as I initially thought, and Brady Quinn doesn't look too bad. Just put some tape on Braylon Edwards' and Kellen Winslow's hands.

Kevin says:
If the Bills have to underestimate the Browns, they will lose. The Browns nearly beat the Redskins and handed the Giants their only loss. This is a dangerous, lurking team. Who knows? It may go on a Redskins run and reach the playoffs.

Sean says:
Curse you, Bob Marley and your catchy slow songs. Since I can't get "Buffalo Soldier" out of my head, I'll go with the Bills. "Out of My Head" by Ashley Simpson - even better, this is great.
