Blair playing strong with one out in the bottom of the fourth

MAR 29, BLAZER STADIUM --

Today's game was called because of rain with Blair up 6-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Blazers had the bases loaded with only one out and senior third baseman Jen Sindall coming up to bat.

The Blazers struggled with Kennedy's slowball pitcher early in the game but adjusted for a five-run rally in the third inning sparked by junior Rebecca Feiden's hard-hit single to center field. Blair interspersed key hits by junior shortstop Amy Ernst and senior pitcher Emma Simson with a slough of walks and stolen bases.

Junior leftfielder Marianne Epstein and senior second baseman Amy Nguyen both scored from free passes. After the Blazers batted around the order, Feiden added another single to drive in Simson.

Blair was solid defensively. Simson allowed just three hits, all singles in the third inning when the Cavaliers scored their only run.

When the game was called, senior catcher Lily Hamburger had just walked in a run.

Blair's next scheduled game is for Tuesday, April 1 at Whitman at 3:30 p.m. The continuation of the Kennedy game has yet to be rescheduled.
