Students given several options

The College Board has announced its plans for making up the December 6 SAT that was cancelled because of the recent snowstorm.

Students can select one of three options. The first option is to show up on the scheduled makeup day, posted on the College Board website under SAT Test Center Closings. Test-takers do not need to contact anyone in order to take their examination on the designated make-up day.

The following make-up schedule has been provided by Sharon Williams, Career-College Coordinator at Blair, for area high school makeup dates. Although Blair itself was not a site for testing, some students may have signed up for testing at other locations.

December 20, 2003
Bethesda Chevy Chase HS
Quince Orchard HS
Springbrook HS
Wheaton HS
Wootton HS
Montgomery College/Rockville

January 10, 2004
Gaithersburg HS

The second option that test takers have is to transfer the test to a future examination dates at no cost. Students who want to use this option must call SAT Customer Service at (609) 771-7600, and identify one of the future dates for SAT testing. The SAT testing dates for the rest of this school year are:

January 24, 2004
March 27, 2004
May 1, 2004
June 5, 2004

The final option available to students is to withdraw completely from the December test, and receive a complete refund of test fees. Students who want to withdraw completely should call the same phone number for SAT Customer Service, (609) 771-7600.
