These four styles will have you ready for Summer 2012
Some Blazers are already on break while others are battling through the last of their exams. Although the weather has been swinging from the low 70s to mid-80s, that summer heat wave is sure to come by soon and certainly you'll need the wardrobe to prepare for it. This SilverChic style expert has taken a break from studying for her exams to brief you on the latest trends for summer 2012.
Take a break from the typical sundressAlthough sundresses are indeed very cute and will always be in style, sometimes we need to go for a different look. Maxi dresses can give you a more sophisticated look, while adding five inches to your height at the same time. A similar style would be a high-low skirt, which has a knee length cut in the front and falls between mid-calf to floor length in the back. Both of these choices can be paired with some cute gladiators or wedges to show a fresh summer pedi. Basically, if you are going anywhere that requires attire above the standard summer T-shirt and shorts, then a maxi dress is definitely the way to go.
Summer shadesSunglasses are back in style! With such a huge variety at every retail store out there, it's understandable that choosing the right pair can be a bit difficult, especially since some are on the expensive side. However, if you pick the right pair of sunglasses, they could be used everyday without the fear of being called tacky! If you have a square shaped face, go for oval and round frames, such as aviators. If you have a round face, choose a pair of shades that have angular frames so that they will sharpen your facial features.
A bag big enough to hold the sunOver the summer, it's important to have a bag that can carry a lot of personal items, such as water, hairspray, wallets, chapstick, a cell phone, etc. Often times over the summer we're busy bustling from one place to another and need one bag to carry all of our essential needs. Hobo and tote bags are definitely the purse of choice this season. Choose a bag that has a neutral color so that it can go with all of your summer outfits, or if you have some extra cash to spare, buy another one that is bright and will contrast with a lot of your summer outfits.
Mint is the new blackThe color for this summer is definitely mint green. This color can flatter any skin type and have you glowing throughout the season. Try pairing a mint blazer or cardigan with a solid color dress and voila! you have the perfect outfit. If you're not feeling any clothes that are mint, try using the color on your nails! Its bright effect works equally on both.
No matter what you choose to wear over the summer, make sure it is made out of thin material so that your body doesn't overheat. SilverChic summer experts wish you a happy summer and hope to see cute pictures of your outfits on instagram!
