Spring pep rally canceled

The spring 2003 pep rally is officially canceled. The pep rally was not scheduled on the original school calendar.

According to vice principal Linda Wanner, the cancellation was due to teacher complaints about limited teaching time before finals. Wanner said that teachers and administrators agreed that after the record number of snow days it is important teachers use all class time available. According to Wanner, "teachers uniformly requested not to have the pep rally."

Attendance secretary Roxanne Fus added that teachers were especially strained for class time because HSA's.

Many students were unaware of the cancellation, and those who were, were disappointed and angered. Senior track star Briand Djenodjilem said he was mad because "it was our [seniors] last pep rally. I think we deserved a last pep rally."
