A dessert that will go straight to the heart
Whether trying to impress a special someone or enjoying the holiday with friends, a delicious dessert can only improve the celebration. Simple to make but nice to look at, this cake will have everyone impressed. The cake can be homemade by the daring or made from a mix by the less culinary talented. Chocolate or vanilla, the cake is so scrumptious and full of love that it is sure to earn the chef many hugs and kisses!
Prep time is about 30 minutes. Cook time is about 35 minutes. Makes about 10 servings.
- 1 8x8 inch square pan
- 1 8x8 inch round pan
- mixer
- bowls
- oven
- spatula
- measuring cups
- 1 box of cake mix
- eggs, oil and water as directed by cake mix
- icing
- food coloring Preparation:
2. Mix together the water, oil, eggs and cake mix as directed by the box.
3. Pour half of the mixture into each of the greased pans.
4. Bake as instructed.
5. Remove from oven and let cool for 15 minutes.
6. Cut circle cake in half and remove from pan.
7. Remove the square cake from the pan and arrange with the half circles to look like a heart.
8. Put the icing into a small bowl. Add the food coloring and mix until the color is as desired.
9. When the cake is completely cool, cover it in icing. Make sure to use the icing to hold the different portions together.
10. Decorate the cake until it is perfect. Enjoy!
