The Blazers beat Wootton High School with a six pin performance and a final score of 56-15, improving Blair's record to 8-1.

The meet began in the 112-pound weight class but the Blazers shut Wootton out through the 140-pound weight class, when the score stood 34-0. Two of Blair's three losses came in the next two weight classes, followed by a pin by senior Junior Gossin to seal Blair's victory.

Seniors Mario Bracamontes and Cuong Vo, two of Blair's best wrestlers, received forfeits in the 125 and 130-pound weight classes respectively.

Blair alumnus Mike Grinder attended the meet, giving support and encouragement to the team. Grinder was a two-time state champion as a wrestler for Blair in 1970 and 1971.

Blair's next meet is against Kennedy at Blair on Jan 26 at 2:00 p.m.
