Price will increase from $60 to $85

Presales for Volume 79 of Silverlogue, the Blair yearbook, will end Friday, according to yearbook club sponsor Jacob Lee. The price will increase from $60 to $85 on Saturday.

For the previous two yearbooks, shown above with the 2004-2005 yearbook, the school ordered too many copies after presales.  Photo courtesy of Rachita Sood.

Presales for the yearbook have been available since November, and as of today, approximately 750 books have been sold, Lee said.

The number of books ordered during the presale period helps determine how many copies of the yearbook the school needs to order from the publishing company, according to Lee. In the last two years, despite having presales, the school ordered too many copies.

This year, the yearbook staff focused more on presales, even creating a marketing department. "We've done presales in previous years, but this year we stressed it more and did a lot more marketing beforehand," Lee said. The staff posted announcements regarding presales on the PTSA listserve and newsletter, handed out information during advisory periods and requested InfoFlow announcements.

Regular sales of Silverlogue will continue until the books sell out, Lee said. Online presales have ended, but the yearbook can still be ordered at the financial office.
