The U.S. Navy's Office of Naval Research provides SEAP opportunities for about 250 high school students each year. Interns will have the opportunity to work with a mentor at a Department of the Navy laboratory. The goals of the program are to encourage students to pursue a career in science and engineering and to make them aware of the Department of the Navy's research and technology efforts, which may eventually lead to employment with the Department of the Navy. The stipend is $1500 for the eight weeks and $1550 for returning students.
