Black Hill Visitor Center

Students will plant new flowers for adult butterflies in the butterfly meadow next to the Black Hill Visitor Center in Boyds, MD. They will be adding milkweeds for monarch caterpillars and a variety of native nectar-rich plants for the adult butterflies. After the planting, volunteers will receive their own plant to take home with instructions to help them grow. Call 301-916-0220 for more information. Volunteers are instructed to bring gloves, a shovel and/or a trowel. The program is free, but volunteers must pre-register here, click Programs and activities and type in #51864 in the search bar.
