One student from Blake and one from Sherwood were contestants in the "Jeopardy! Teen Tournament," a Sony Pictures Television event that concluded on Tuesday, Feb. 8. The Blake student won the tournament while the Sherwood one was beaten in the semi finals.

James Baldwin was born in 1924, the oldest of nine children, and grew up in poverty in Harlem. Early in his life, Baldwin followed in his father's footsteps and became a preacher. performed by a Chinese Youth Club not affiliated with Blair in Washington, D.C.'s Chinatown. The
dance is usually performed to bring luck and courage to life in the
new year.
Flowers and Butterflies is a dance designed to imitate a game played by young children in ancient times. The children, dressed in traditional colors of yellow and red for fortune and luck, chase each other with small round fans with colorful silk streamers.

Obama was born in 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii to a Kenyan father and a white American mother, Ann Dunham. Dunham is a descendant of Jefferson Davis, the president of the Confederate States of America in the 1860s. Rock superstar Jimi Hendrix was only in the limelight for three years, but within that time, he managed to change the face of Rock and Roll forever. Hendrix was born in 1942, started playing guitar at age 11 and performed with local rock groups as a teen. At 16, Hendrix left school and joined the Army as a paratrooper, a career quickly ended by an injury he received during a practice jump.
