Varsity girls basketball overpowers Wheaton

The Montgomery Blair Blazers (7-6) defeated the Wheaton Knights (6-7) by a score of 54-38 on Tuesday, January 15th. The game started out slowly, the Blazers playing with caution till they got a sense of their competition.

Blair boys' basketball narrowly wins over Northwood Gladiators

The Blair Blazers (2-4) secured a win against the Northwood Gladiators (1-5) with a score of 44-41 during their game on Tuesday, January 5th.

Blair boys' basketball trounced by the Thomas Stone Cougars

The Blair Blazers (0-1) were defeated by the Thomas Stone Cougars (1-0) by a score of 71-42 in their first game of the season on Tuesday night.

Blair boys basketball loses defensive battle

The Blair Blazers (1-1) lost to the Richard Montgomery Rockets (3-0) 40-33 Monday. The low-scoring defensive battle remained close until midway through the third quarter, when the Rockets started to pull away thanks to solid free throw shooting and fast break points coming off of Blair turnovers.

Girls basketball falls to Paint Branch

The Montgomery Blair varsity girls’ basketball team lost 55-28 against the tall and physical Paint Branch Panthers. After getting off to a poor start, the Blazers were not able to come back against the Panthers’ overpowering style of play.

Boys' basketball falls in playoffs to Kennedy

The Blair boys’ basketball team (9-11) fell to the Kennedy Cavaliers (13-11) in the first round of the playoffs on Saturday afternoon 53-46, bringing their season to an unfortunate end. The game felt much closer than the seven point difference indicates.
