Blazers say yes to competing at the next level

On Nov. 15 senior Madison Waechter committed to the University of Wisconsin-Madison and signed the letter of intent to officially join their swim team. Waechter finally made the decision to commit after considering offers from three different schools. "I loved everything about the school: the academics, the location and the swim team had a great atmosphere," she said.

Blairís football season ends in disappointment

Heading into Friday nightís game against the Quince Orchard Cougars (10-1), the Blair Blazers (8-3) were eager to pick up their first playoff win in school history. However, they will have to wait until next year after being eliminated by the Cougars, 35-7.

The playoffs donít begin until next week for the Blair Blazers (8-2), but they still had to face an intimidating foe on Friday night: the Damascus Hornets (10-0). The Hornets had not lost a game since the 2014 3A state finals, and they kept that streak alive by edging the Blazers 35-27.

After vaulting to number six in the Montgomery County football rankings, expectations were high for the Blair Blazers (2-0). But, the Blazers refused to let the pressure get to them. They pounded the BCC Barons (0-2) on Friday night by a score of 42-12, pummeling the Baron defense into the ground with 612 total yards of offense.

The Montgomery Blair Blazers (3-2) lost 7-12 to the Paint Branch Panthers (5-0) in a low scoring, defensive game on Friday night in the rain. The Blazers potent offense that has led the team this season was held at bay against an undefeated Paint Branch team.

Blazers take the Boulevard in season opener

The Montgomery Blair Blazers (1-0) used a huge offensive first quarter to obliterate the cross-Boulevard rival Northwood Gladiators (0-1) 48-3 in the Battle of the Boulevard on Friday.
