Blair's spring sports teams excel in record-breaking postseason

Blair had a postseason for the ages this spring, with historic success across several of the nine spring sports.

Blazers take down Rams

In a hard-fought game, the Blazers (2-1) defeated the Rockville Rams (0-3) 12-10.

Girls’ lacrosse routs Einstein

A cold Friday night proved to be no obstacle for Blair’s girls’ lacrosse team (1-2) as they defeated the Einstein Titans (0-3) by a final score of 13-5. The Blazers took the lead early and dominated for the rest of the game.

Lady Blazers grab senior night victory

Before the game there was the ceremony with the seniors and their parents. After the game was the ceremony with the seniors and their teammates. And in between all these festivities the Blair girls’ varsity lacrosse team (7-2) easily beat the Springbrook Blue Devils (3-5) 13-3.

Blair suffers first loss of season

In a matchup of two Montgomery County girls’ lacrosse powers, the Blake Bengals (4-1) beat the Blair Blazers (4-1) handily by a score of 18 to 11. Blake charged ahead in the first half scoring ten unanswered to break a 2-2 tie and take a 12-2 lead.

Blazers blow past Titans

The scoring onslaught began early as the Blair varsity girls' lacrosse team (9-4) defeated the Einstein Titans (7-6) by a score of 18-4. Blair scored early, never giving Einstein a chance to rally back.

Northwest beats girls' lacrosse

The Northwest Jaguars (7-5) beat the girls' varsity lacrosse team (8-4) with a final score of 20-11. Blair took the game slowly in the first half with Northwest scoring first, after a strong offensive attack in the first minute of the game.

Girls' varsity lacrosse defeats Trojans

The girls' varsity lacrosse team (2-1) defeated the Gaithersburg Trojans (0-3) by a score of 14-4 in its third game of the season. The Blazers picked up the pace and built a lead before the first half was over.

Athlete of the Week: Rachel Smith, Girls’ Lacrosse

It’s an unseasonably cold spring night as the girls' lacrosse team takes the field for its home opener. Junior center Rachel Smith slashes to the net and scores within the first two minutes of the opening whistle, giving the Blazers the momentum en route to their first win of the season.

Girls' varsity lacrosse falls to Patriots

In the first round of the playoffs, the girls' varsity lacrosse team (4-9) fell to the Wootton Patriots (9-4) by a final score of 20-9.
